I am Alex Bodey, a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Food Studies from The Culinary Institute of America. With a lifelong passion for the culinary world that began when I was just 14, I've been exploring the art of food and cooking since I was old enough to reach the stove. My life has led me to a commitment to the food system, where I've cultivated a deep fascination for agro-ecology, the art of cooking with invasive species, and addressing socio-economic challenges within the food industry. Beyond the kitchen, I am a freelance portrait photographer, and my work has graced the pages of Consanancie Magazine. I find immense joy in participating in the growing of food, which I channeled into tending the student gardens at The Culinary Institute as well as my time volunteering at Cornell Cooperative Extension GreenTeen Beacon. My passion for botany extends to foraging local species and educating myself on native ecosystems. Through this blend of cooking, photography, and a dedication to sustainable food practices, I strive to connect, create, and contribute to a more flavorful and sustainable world.
