“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift” - Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer

I am Alex Bodey, a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Food Studies from The Culinary Institute of America. With a lifelong passion for the culinary world, I've been exploring the art of food and cooking since I was old enough to reach the stove. My life has led me to a commitment to food systems, where I've cultivated a deep fascination for agro-ecology, the art of cooking with invasive species, and addressing socio-economic challenges within the food industry. Beyond the kitchen, I am a freelance portrait and street photographer. I find immense joy in participating in the growing of food, which I channeled into my time volunteering at Cornell Cooperative Extension GreenTeen Beacon and local farms. My passion for botany extends to foraging local species and educating myself on native ecosystems and food cultures. Through this blend of cooking, photography, and a dedication to sustainable food practices, I strive to connect, create, and contribute to a more flavorful, beautiful, and sustainable world.
